Paticles
was performed at the 13th Annual DC Improvisation Festival in front of
the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. Using helium balloons to
explore the particles around us and in our spaces, The Washington Post
wrote that this concept was ideal for a street performance. The work took
place within the entire sidewalk area outside the library and within the
passers by. |

The
505 7th Street project was created for the Arts on Foot Festival in association
with Capital Fringe. It was a forty-five minute site-specific improvisation
inspired by and performed in the confined space of this vacant storefront
in Northwest DC. The structure of the improvisation was multi-sectioned
and utilized chairs, food, cell-phones, MP3 players, a blanket, and gauze
as props. The length and seque for each section was determined by a cooking-timer
which was set by each dancer during the work. This performance was made
possible through the participation of Capital Fringe and generous support
of the Downtown DC Business Improvement District, The Penn Quarter Neighborhood
Association and the Douglas Development Corporation. |
